About Sofia Church Choir
The Sofia Church Choir, one of the largest choirs in Stockholm, has been active for over 40 years. We contribute to the work of our parish through our performances, including several highly acclaimed concerts every year, both at Sofia Church and abroad. Our wide repertoire spans from Palestrina and Bach, to Gjeilo and Bäck.
When you open the doors and enter our beautiful church, we want you to have an experience that touches your deepest emotions when you listen to our music.
Our goal is not just to give great concerts and sing at mass, however. We also want each voice to come into its own, thus enhancing the choir’s timbre and musical expression. Kinship and development are therefore key components of our choir’s success and over the years we have nurtured these through rehearsals, concerts, and retreats.
We are passionate about music. This is what one of our members wrote on Facebook, under a picture of the choir at work: “This is me at my happiest. With my choir, my orchestra. With Bach and Dobrogosz. And an enthusiastic audience”.
